How do you protect account passwords and user IDs?

All personal information is entered through Secure Socket Layer (SSL/TLS) which creates an encrypted connection between your browser and our servers. This information is kept encrypted at all times. This means that all account passwords and any user IDs are protected.

Just like your bank.


Who has access to CashDeck accounts?

CashDeck passwords are created by and known only to the user. Neither CashDeck nor the Service Provider has access to this password. No one can access a CashDeck account unless the user provides him or her with the password, or activates the Share Accounts feature.

The Share Accounts feature can be activated on any account added to CashDeck. Account sharing allows a third party to view balance and transaction information on this specific CashDeck account.

The Share Accounts feature should only be used after careful consideration. It is the responsibility of the user to choose who the account information is shared with and to set permissions for each person carefully.

You can stop sharing any account at any time.


Where is the account information stored?

A CashDeck user's information is stored on servers, which are securely housed in an Internet server hosting facility that provides enhanced physical security, fire protection and electronic shielding. Security personnel monitor the system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Access to servers requires multiple levels of authentication, including biometric procedures.


How is the account information protected during transmission?

The transmission of data is protected using industry recognised encryption standards, such as 256-bit. Users' passwords are transmitted and stored in encrypted format at all times. This means all information is secure during transmission.


How is the account information protected from “hackers” or outside intrusion?

Network-based intrusion detection systems (IDS) provide 24/7 network monitoring and alert us to any external attempts to access the network. In addition, multiple layers of firewalls are used to guard against unauthorised access to the network.

Why does CashDeck need bank login information (usernames and passwords)?

We need online banking usernames and passwords so that we can establish a secure connection with the bank, credit union or credit card company. This enables CashDeck to download and categorise transaction information automatically and securely.


If someone does manage to steal the CashDeck login information, can they access bank accounts and credit cards to make any transactions?

No. CashDeck provides a strictly “read only” view of all transaction information. Online banking usernames and passwords are never displayed after they are entered during your initial session.
